1. Cycling getaways
Cyclists are spoiled for choice in the Haut-Richelieu, with nearly a dozen trails, axes and loops where pedaling is a real charm. Certainly, the Montérégiade is just what you need if you're getting your bike out and back in the saddle this spring. In fact, the 48 km former railway track offers a peaceful stroll through nature. The trail opens on April 15.
Alternatively, for longer trips, the Grande boucle and the Boucle centre-est are excellent options. The Canal-de-Chambly multi-purpose trail suggests 20 km along the Richelieu River, while theVallée-des-Forts cycle path and the Lake Champlain cycle route allow cyclists to cover some 50 km.
2. Visit a microbrewery
April 17 to 27 is Quebec's Microbeer Week. It's the perfect opportunity to visit one of Haut-Richelieu's brewery artisans, such as Domaine Berthiaume, La Terre à boire or Buvette Laganière. Make your stop part of your cycling tour!

3. Take a birdwatching hike
Spring is the time to get out and about, and to get moving. Hiking is the perfect way to get active gently. And then there's the rebirth of nature and wildlife. Canada geese await you for an awe-inspiring performance at the Parc et sentier de la nature as they migrate through the region. Then, the Parc Naturel des Parulines is teeming with little winged singers that will make your stroll a true escape.
4. Enjoy a terrace
The region's restaurants and bars reopen their terraces as the temperatures warm up. There are so many moments of togetherness during the summer season. So why not get the ball rolling this spring?

5. Dancing at the Festival de Sève
From May 2 to 4, the third edition of the Sève festival is the outdoor spring event that coincides with the thawing of outdoor shows in the region. As such, it's a great opportunity to start celebrating outdoor culture while waiting for the official festival season.
On the program: captivating musical performances, lively street entertainment, comedy, a diverse range of food and drink, and relaxation areas scattered around the city between two venues.
Souldia and Arnaud Soly are among this year's festival headliners!
