Parc naturel des Parulines

The Parulines Nature Park, located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, is a true haven of peace where you can breathe deeply and take in the fresh air. Considered the first nature park of its kind in the city, this 26-hectare green space offers an exceptional setting for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.

With over 3 kilometers of accessible trails, the park invites visitors and families to explore a wide variety of landscapes. The trails wind through diverse natural habitats, ranging from wooded areas to wetlands and biodiversity-rich open spaces. This variety of ecosystems creates the perfect setting for hiking, nature watching, and relaxation in the great outdoors.

As you stroll through the park, you’ll be able to admire the abundant flora, including the hickory tree, the iconic tree of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Recognizable by its bark, which peels off in long strips, this tree—whose status is currently threatened—is a distinctive feature of the park. Wildlife is also abundant here, with numerous species of birds, insects, and small animals bringing the trails to life, much to the delight of curious visitors and nature enthusiasts alike.

Designed to be accessible to everyone, the park features family-friendly trails, some of which are stroller-friendly. Rest areas are located along the route, allowing visitors to take a break, admire the scenery, or enjoy a picnic in a peaceful setting. Parking is also available at the entrance, making it easy to access the site.

At the end of the marsh trail, La Canadienne Park adds a playful touch to the visit with its innovative wooden play structures, which blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings.

The Parulines Nature Park is the perfect place to recharge, get active, and reconnect with nature, just a stone's throw from the city.
