The berry route and the art of tasting

Let's enjoy the beautiful weather and nature, with the right distance!

An eco-responsible choice: Haut-Richelieu berries.

Summer means pick-your-own berries! And there's no shortage of producers in the Haut-Richelieu region. In addition to the positive spin-offs for the regional economy, locally grown berries are a sustainable choice. So let's encourage our local producers and practice eco-responsible consumption!

Strawberries

We're used to eating Quebec strawberries towards the end of June. But these berries are available from early June until the first frosts in October. This long production period gives us plenty of time to prolong this summer pleasure! Stock up and eat local all year round.

Raspberries

U-pickers are early risers. They know that these berries are at their best when picked in the morning. That's the time of day when their flavor is at its peak. Since raspberries don't ripen any further after harvest, it's important to choose good, ripe, firm berries with brilliant color. Simply refrigerate in a container or plastic bag with air circulation holes, to avoid condensation and humidity. Wash fruit before eating.

Blueberries

Blueberries are naturally covered with bloom: a thin, waxy, slightly powdery natural film. This natural film helps the fruit to keep longer.
