Did you know that hot-air ballooning is possible even in winter?

The Haut-Richelieu, a region rich in colors, flavours and heights!

Surely you know that the Haut-Richelieu region is renowned for its hot-air balloon flights? It's not uncommon on a mild August evening to see the sky colored by these magnificent balloons. You can even see them side by side at theInternational Balloon Festival. Did you know that hot-air balloons don't just fly in summer?

And yes, it is possible to take to the skies in a hot-air balloon, even in winter!

Ballooning in winter is even less complicated. In the colder months, ballooning can take place at any time of day. In summer, the sun is stronger and the warmer temperatures mean that take-offs only take place at the beginning and end of the day, when the temperature is lower. Cooler temperatures are therefore more advantageous!

In fact, you'd think it would be far too cold for such an activity. Well, not so! The heat from the burner keeps the basket at a fairly comfortable temperature. And with the splendid view, even the slightest chill is quickly forgotten. The peaceful panorama is breathtaking. The white sheet that covers the area and the glitter of the frozen river stand out from all other landscapes. So all you need is time and a mild temperature. Even in winter, anything is possible!
