Cabru Farm
Ferme Cabru has great ecological values!
Ferme Cabru is a family-run vegetable farm known for its strongenvironmentaland social values. The owners, Carole Reid Forget and Bruno St-Aubin, grow organic vegetables and sell them primarily through vegetable boxes as part of a community-supported agriculture program. Their goal is to provide healthy, locally grown food produced in a way that respects ecosystems.
When the season begins, organic vegetable baskets are available at several pickup locations, including Saint-Blaise-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Greenfield Park, and Montreal. Subscriptions include one weekly delivery over approximately 20 weeks (about 20 deliveries), allowing you to keep pace with the harvests throughout the season. Each CABRUVORES basket typically contains between seven and ten varieties of vegetables, offering a wonderful variety for cooking diverse meals and discovering new produce.
Cabru Farm is a member of the Family Farmers Network, the Cooperative for Local Ecological Agriculture (CAPÉ), and the Quebec Organic Sector. This triple membership reflects its commitment to local, sustainable, and transparent agriculture. The crops are certified organic by Ecocert Canada, which guarantees compliance with strict standards, including the absence of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and GMOs.
The farm’s business model is based on the principle of community-supported agriculture: residents subscribe to produce boxes and thus support the farm throughout the season, sharing in both the bounty and, at times, the vagaries of the weather. In return, they receive fresh, seasonal vegetables harvested shortly before delivery. To learn more about life on the farm, see pictures of the fields and harvests, or find out about subscription options, visit the Ferme Cabru website and follow their Facebook page, where the team shares news, photos, and practical information.
