Birds in winter

CIME Haut-Richelieu invites you to take part in an interpretation activity during which naturalists will present some of the bird species that brave Quebec's harsh winters. The activity will begin with a presentation in the refuge and will be followed by a short
followed by a short hike in the forest. Did you know that nearly 80 species of birds visit the Haut-Richelieu in winter? Our naturalists will reveal the secrets of birds' adaptations to the cold, and introduce you to some of the species usually found in the region.
the region. Participants will then head to a bird feeder to try and catch birds feeding. Binoculars are available on loan. To conclude, the naturalists will lead a short hike along the trails to observe
birds and signs of their presence. Of course, particular attention will be paid to any signs of animal life encountered during the excursion, be they tracks in the snow, droppings or anything else.

The cost is $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for children (taxes included). The activity takes place regardless of the weather, so please
appropriate clothing. Suggested age: 8 and over. Since space is limited, registration and payment are mandatory and must be done online. Please note that crampons are sometimes recommended, depending on trail conditions. Crampons can be rented on site.
