Le Clos des Cigales: Natural Wines in the Heart of the Haut-Richelieu Region

In Sabrevois, the Clos des Cigales is breathing new life into a vineyard that nearly disappeared.

Taken over in 2021 when it was nearly abandoned, the estate hides a true treasure: vineyards nearly 40 years old—a rarity in Quebec. Initially led by a couple, the project now brings together three enthusiasts who prioritize a natural approach to winemaking.

The result? Natural wines produced right here in the Haut-Richelieu region. Since some of life’s best things are hard to come by, these wines aren’t always easy to find.

A tip for the curious: take a detour to Les Petites Bonneville, their small gourmet shop located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
