World Cinema and Music Festival

World Cinema and Music Festival: Cinema, Music, and Entertainment Await You

From September 4 to 6, 2026, Old Saint John will come alive with the World Film and Music Festival. Whether it’s outdoor or indoor screenings, major concerts on the main stage, or interactive activities, these three days are a chance to travel, discover, and celebrate cultures from here and around the world.

Cinema Takes Its Place

Discover a selection of films that take you on a journey, make you think, and stir your emotions, presented outdoors at the Place publique du Vieux-Saint-Jean or indoors at the Théâtre des Deux Rives. Now showing: *Nos belles-sœurs*, *Les Cowboys Fringants*: “L’Amérique pleure – Le film,” “Amadou et Mariam | Sons du Mali” (followed by a discussion with a guest), “Florent Vollant: Innu, Vivaldi et moi” (followed by a discussion with a guest), and “DJ Ahmet – Le garçon qui faisait danser les collines” (followed by a discussion with a guest). Indoor screenings are free, but a ticket is required.

A Colorful Main Stage

On September 4 and 5, the Place publique du Vieux-Saint-Jean will host a unifying musical lineup featuring Latin rhythms, Afro sounds, songs, and musical styles from here and abroad. The lineup includes: Lengaïa Salsa Brava, Richy Jay (with Cédieu Léveillé and Elya as opening acts), Alexandre Belliard with “Comme au cinéma,” and Djely Tapa. One stage, many musical worlds, and above all, a wonderful opportunity to take a musical journey right in the heart of Old Saint-Jean.

Activities to experience the festival in a different way

The festival also features a wide variety of activities to explore. On September 4 and 5, starting at noon, the Place publique du Vieux-Saint-Jean comes alive with a participatory and community-building program: a Brazilian intercultural potluck, an introduction to capoeira and traditional dance (presented by L’Ancre Immigration), world percussion from Quebec to Turkey, and salsa dancing with Karim Dhibat. A wonderful opportunity to get moving, explore, connect, and celebrate cultures together.

From local and international films to enjoy under the stars or in the comfort of a theater, concerts that take you on a journey, and activities to get you moving and connecting with others: the World Cinema and Music Festival has something for everyone.
