Champions' Loop
Inspired by a section of the course ridden by the elite men’s riders during the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montreal, the Champions’ Loop offers a 74-km bike ride through the heart of the Montérégie region, as well as a longer 105-km route. Featuring historic sites, rivers, orchards, cafés, microbreweries, and views of Mont Saint-Hilaire, this route lets you explore at your own pace some of the landscapes that marked the region’s hosting of this major international sporting event.
The suggested starting point is the Canal Promenade in Old Saint-Jean. The route begins in a lively tourist hub known for its restaurants, cafés, outdoor seating areas, microbreweries, and the Fort Chambly National Historic Site.
The route then takes cyclists to Mont-Saint-Hilaire, set against a backdrop where mountains, orchards, and farmland take center stage. The Chemin de la Montagne offers a particularly memorable experience, with its rows of apple trees, views of the region, and a quintessentially Montérégien atmosphere. It’s an ideal loop for combining a challenging bike ride, a culinary getaway, and an exploration of the area’s cultural and natural attractions.
This route is not the complete official course of the Men’s Elite race at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montreal. Rather, it is a recreational cycling route inspired by a section of the event’s route through the Montérégie region, designed to allow cyclists to enjoy part of the experience at their own pace.
