Verger de la Montagne
Come and pick delicious apples at Verger de la Montagne!
Le Verger de la Montagne is a family-run business located on the mountainside, on the northern slope of Mont-Saint-Grégoire, and has been welcoming visitors for over 75 years. People come here mainly to pick their own apples in a stunning natural setting, with a beautiful view of the mountain.
During the season, the orchard offers 17 varieties of apples throughout the fall, including Rosinette and Passionata, two new varieties that the company helped develop. This allows visitors to discover both classic varieties and more recent creations, perfect for eating fresh, making compotes, or baking.
For those interested in learning more, Verger de la Montagne features a small museum dedicated to the history of the orchard and apple cultivation. Visitors can also take a guided tour of the orchard to gain a better understanding of the production methods and the work that goes into each harvest. These activities add an educational element to the outing, making it particularly appealing for families.
At the end of the tour, be sure to stop by the visitor center. There, you can buy pre-picked apples as well as a variety of apple-based products: apple jelly, apple juice, honey, apple cider, and apple maple butter. The orchard is generally open from August through October, depending on the apple season.
