Intercultural Picnics – Quebec City

On June 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., J.-Paul-Beaulieu Park will host the very first Intercultural PICnic, presented by Les Halles Saint-Jean. This inaugural event will celebrate Quebec culture in a warm, festive, and inclusive atmosphere, inviting people from all walks of life to meet, connect, and share a moment of camaraderie.

Designed as spaces for discovery and community building, the Intercultural PICnics offer a unique experience where food, traditions, and human connection are at the heart of the event. Participants can gather around a large communal table, enjoy the park, and discover the flavors that make up the rich culinary heritage of Quebec.

For the occasion, Chef Marc-Antoine Grondin of Bistro L’Imprévu will be on hand to prepare and offer a complimentary tasting bite inspired by Quebec’s culinary traditions. This tasting will allow visitors to sample authentic flavors while discovering the history and influences that shape our culinary identity.

Those who wish to extend the experience can also take advantage of a barbecue provided on-site to cook their own food. Whether with family, friends, neighbors, or new acquaintances, everyone is invited to bring their own meal and join in this grand celebration of community.

The Intercultural Picnics are designed to be a special opportunity to foster dialogue, build connections, and celebrate the cultural diversity that enriches our community. This first gathering marks the start of a series of events that will allow us, throughout the summer, to discover different cultures through their traditions and flavors.

An initiative carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Immigration, Francization, and Integration;L’Ancre – Immigration en région; Les Halles Saint-Jean; the City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu; and NexDev – Développement économique Haut-Richelieu.
