Pierre Lavoie's Great Challenge
From June 11 to 14, 2026, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu will become the base camp for the 1000 KM Pure Industriel du Grand défi Pierre Lavoie. Nearly 1,200 cyclists (240 teams) will take turns riding 13 stages totaling 1,000 km, crisscrossing the Montérégie region. The start and finish of each stage will take place at the Royal Military College of Saint-Jean, which will be transformed into Village Avril: a gathering place with a festive atmosphere, featuring exhibitors and shows, designed for both participants and visitors.
This is a golden opportunity to come cheer on the cyclists and experience the destination in a different way. The idea is to position yourself as an "official supporter" along the route, then extend the experience by discovering the shops, restaurants, and terraces of Old Saint-Jean, as well as other attractions and great places to visit elsewhere in the Haut-Richelieu region . In short, you can combine atmosphere, local shopping, and discovery in a single outing .
At the same time, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, the public is invited to participate in La Boucle Videotron: approximately 5,000 cyclists from across Quebec will take on a 135-kilometer challenge, without a stopwatch, on a closed and secure course.
