The immersive journey plunges you into the heart of the Battle of Lacolle, a decisive moment in the War of 1812, which took place on March 30, 1814. This historical episode takes place at the Lacolle Blockhaus, where the user finds himself propelled into an intense conflict. Through four carefully chosen points of interest, each stage unlocks a collectible map, rich in historical information, virtual objects and audio testimonies, allowing the user to experience this battle from different angles.
The event unfolds as 4,000 American soldiers, led by Major General James Wilkinson, confront a handful of 80 British and Canadian defenders, who fight bravely to defend the position. The Lacolle Blockhouse, built in 1781, served as a strategic defense for the British colony. At the time of the battle, it represented a nerve center in the conflict.
The aim of the course is to have the user embody the role of a Canadian militia soldier, caught in the middle of the battle. The soldier must complete a crucial mission before suffering the impact of an explosion that will mark a turning point in the history of this battle. This immersive journey is designed to offer an interactive historical experience where every detail is a window on the past.

A site steeped in history
Classified as a heritage building, the Blockhaus is one of the last physical witnesses to this pivotal era. Even today, the walls bear the scars of the past, including musket ball impacts. The place thus becomes a veritable time capsule for young and old alike.
