L'Acadie church and presbytery

A unique site in Quebec!

Embark with us on a journey back to the 19e century! L'Acadie's heritage site offers a unique window on a page of our history.

Just a stone's throw from the Rivière L'Acadie, you can admire a series of major heritage buildings, including the Sainte-Marguerite-de-Blairfindie church (1801), the presbytery (1821) and the covered road (1822). Their fascinating history is intrinsically linked to the deportation of the Acadians.

Continue your visit on foot to Ancestors Park. Here you'll see the Acadian Odyssey monument. Shaped like a star, this monument recalls the Grand Dérangement and other significant events linked to the arrival of the Acadians in the area.

We also recommend a detour to admire the large mural at École Napoléon-Bourassa, which also tells the story of the deportation and subsequent founding of the village.
