By Boat

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and area is crossed by the Richelieu River. It is an entry port to United States and Lake Champlain. To allow navigation between Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Chambly, a canal comprising nine locks was built in 1843.
