Boating and water sports

Water sports abound in the region. The Richelieu River, Chambly Canal and Lake Champlain are recognized as incomparable courses for navigation.  The Richelieu River is the gateway to Lake Champlain and an essential waterway to traverse to the U.S. East Coast.

There are many services and attractions available to boaters navigating the area. Saint-Paul-de-l'Île-aux-Noix, designated as the Boating Capital, has a number of high-quality marinas.

A paradise for windsurfers, Venise-en-Québec, located on the shores of Lake Champlain, is a busy place in the summer months, filled with boats, kayaks, canoes, sea-doos and even kite surfers.
